• TRAVELER’S COMPANY Traveler's Factory Yosegi Charm features unique round wood design made with a special technique of wood marquetry.
  • Yosegi – a traditional Japanese wood marquetry developed in the Edo period Japan in the town of Hakone. A combination of walnut, birch, and other wood materials is used to form a seamless checkered pattern. The dark brown color interlaced with light-colored wood creates a calming tone to the finished piece of art.
  • Round circle design – made by combining various types of wood into square sticks that lined up evenly. Then it is carefully shaved into a cylindrical shape, and further cut into even thickness. A hole is drilled from the sides for the TRAVELER'S notebook Leather Cover elastic band to pass through. This last step is a very delicate process as the wood may break if the hole is not drilled straight through from the centre.
• Each piece is unique – The pattern of the charm will show differently on each piece because of the way the wood grains are arranged in different directions. Each charm has a unique expression and ages with use.
